Oh. I know. I'm just ranting. The amazing and obnoxious thing about Nintendo is that they manage to be successful while continuing to ignore the most obvious potential in their services. They focus on the casual, social gamer and yet offer a joke in lieu of something like XBox Live and they offer ways to view your photos, but no way to view movies. Still, the potential is there. If you think about it, they probably are the largest presence in the 'living room internet connection.'

Looking at the massive success the Wii has had by not dealing with media at all, I don't think the big-N is in too much of a rush to start adding it in. The next console will prob have DVD support, but I don't expect much in the way of downloadable media or Blu-ray.

You'd think that Nintendo would realize the potential of its near ubiquitous presence in the living room and at least roll out an update to play DVDs on the Wii. Here's to hoping that the Wii2 actually can do some of this too.
